Final of McMicking Plate for 2016.
October’s Monthly medal brings to an exciting conclusion to the McMicking Plate, a challenge between the men playing the Monthly Medal events between the months of March to October of each year.
Every player’s five lowest nett scores are counted towards his total and the player with the lowest five round total wins the Plate.
This year, the Plate was tied after September’s Round with Ian Murchie and Jon Smith equal on 365 and both with highest single rounds of 76 strokes in that total.
During today’s round, Jon shot a nett 76, keeping his total on 364 shots as he was not able to lower his highest single round score. Ian landed a 75 today and he was able to reduce his highest round score from 76 to today’s score of 75, making Ian the winner by just one shot, with a total of 363. Well done Ian.
