The third round of the Esplanade Hotel Inverloch Super League was completed on Saturday with some low team scores posted due to many players having only one opportunity to post a score. The following results were recorded:

Hawks 137 (Peter Waters 36, Toni West 35) def Demons 107 (David Forbes 33, Anne Gibson 28)

There is a trend appearing that the winning teams generally have more players posting scores each week. So, the message is to get your teammates out on the track!

Men’s Pennant Results – Sunday 24th April

Today saw our Div 2 team suffer their first loss (4-3) in a very tight contest with Wonthaggi at Foster. Two of the games went to extra holes, with our team coming up empty-handed on both occasions! Div 2 will now need to win their next round match to ensure a place in the final.

Div 3 played Korumburra at Wonthaggi, and came away with a strong 6-1 win. This places Div 3 with 4 wins and 1 loss from 5 starts, and a further win from the final 2 rounds should see them play in the final this year.

Div 4 played Lang Lang at Woorayl, and went down 4-3 in an exciting contest. Again, several games could have gone either way. Good wins were secured by Peter Jaspers (5/4), Andy Bassett (2 up) and Bryan McCorkell (19th). The loss will probably mean that Div 4 now need to win both of their remaining matches to secure a finals berth. Highlight of the day was a shot Dan Poynton played from INSIDE the Clubhouse back towards the 9th green after his shanked approach shot rolled through an open sliding door! He chipped back onto the green, narrowly missing holing it! I have it on video an hopefully will be able to upload it to the website soon!
