The Owen McMicking Plate is a men’s Board event awarded to the player with the lowest net score from their best 5 rounds over the 8 monthly medals from March to October. The winner of this event is the person who shows consistently good form in the toughest conditions in stroke competitions off the black tees. A fine achievement in a prestigious event.
With 7 of the 8 rounds now complete there looks to be only 3 possible winners. David Forbes leads with net 361 but has a big chance to improve on that score with a nett 77 to drop off if he can better it in October. Hot on his heels is Rod Hopcraft sitting on 364, also with a 77 to drop off if he is to overtake Dave. Ted Rudge has only played 4 rounds to date and sits on 289, a nett score in the October medal of 71 or better will put the pressure on our top two. A great finish in guaranteed.
