Round 2- Men’s Pennant Sunday 26th March 2017

Round 2 of Men’s Pennant resulted in losses to all three teams although well fought out.

Div. 2 Team

Beaten 4/3 by Korrumburra at Lang lang, during which  two matches were lost on the 19th and Captain Tom Sorrell beaten on the on the 18th, so a very close result without our strongest team playing. And considering Tom’s travelling back and forth from NSW to play, it’s a mighty effort.

Div 3 Team

The team did better than last week, although playing at Meeniyan and losing to Foster  3/4.  Captain  Brendan Simon  says ” I feel our winning streak is just around the corner (fingers crossed)”.

Stuart Harry had a blinder, winnning 7/5. and Bryan McCorkell also had a solid 4/3 win. Peter Dowling, playing #1, held tough on his return to pennant with a win on the 19th.

Mick Oliver was valiant in defeat, losing on the 19th. Geoff Maher was also in it up to his ears, losing 2/1. Bruce Hutton and myself lost 3/2.

Div. 5 Team

Div 5 were beaten by Lang Lang at home going down 2-5 . However the silver lining was Nick Hill and Tony Roberts both winning their matches 2/1.

With a near full list back this week all sides will be fielding very competitive sides.  Many thanks to all those players who put their hands up to fill in so we could get our Teams on the field this week.

Well Boys, the Women Pennant Teams have thrown down the gauntlet my having more wins than us again.  Congratulations to the Ladies involved.

Guest Day- Stableford 25 March 2017

A great day on the Course and in the Club rooms by a good field of members and their guests during today’s Guest Day.  The winning scores came from the afternoon crew whom had the benefit of playing fuelled by a great lunch.

Unluckiest player was the birthday boy, Bruce Hutton who finished with a winning A Grade score of 41, but fell short of the Best Score of the Day which went to C Grade winner, Donald Smith with an awesome 42 points.
