Gentsomes

46 players enjoyed the Gentsomes format.

Terry Grace, Frank Thomas, Bill Warren and Colin Bear with a score of 107 won today’s event on a countback from the awesome trio of Bruce Gibson, Bob Birrell and Craig Hams.

Down the line balls went to the group of Denis Wallace, Rod Brown, Tony Roberts and John Simon with 106 points, then Ian Trease, John Housey, Brian Fennessy and David Child with 101 points

Nearest the Pins – Alan Kuhne on the 14th to 2.2 metres and Bill Bittleman hit a beauty to 2.58m on 16.

Gordon West 9 Hole Competition.

Sunday saw the final round of the Gordon West 9 Hole Competition for 2016-2017.  The day was taken out by the team of Rule 35 with the main contributors for the day being Allan and Louise Schache,Colin and Karen Bear, and Marryanne Gartner with the Bakers away.  However overall winners for the series was 7 Up with the team consisting on the day of  John Hassett, Bill Bittleman, Doug Clemman, Frank Smedley and Eddie Poole (all pictured ) with sponsor and 7 Up member Kevin Scott from South Gippsland Boarding Kennels holding the Shield, and organiser Ian Danks with matriach Pat West.  Many thanks go to all those teams that play and continue to support this event which is played in the memory of Gordon West.

Tuesday 2nd March – Stableford

A strong field of 71 competed in today’s competition.

Ron Findlay was in top form and carded a very impressive 41 points.

A couple of clever gentlemen scored eagles, well done Jon Smith (2nd hole) and Bert Borg (3rd hole)

Stableford – Last Day of Summer – February 28

We welcomed the “Box Hill Crew” to Leongatha today.  Box Hill captain Chris McLeod thanked Leongatha Golf Club for our hospitality and praised the excellent condition of our golf course.

83 players entered today’s competition with Box Hill member Ernie Bersey blitzing the field with 40 points.

The best shot of the day was Marilyn William’s second shot on the 3rd that ran into the hole for a great eagle.

Stableford – Thursday February 2, 2017

Thursday shotgun starts got off to a flying start with 77 players teeing off in ideal golf conditions.

Chris Leaver and Peter Jaspers were the standout performers with 40 points each.  Chris’s very impressive back nine sealed the countback and today’s overall prize.  Peter was the proud winner of a single golf ball.  Congratulations to them both.
