The second day of winter produced mild weather, the course was excellent but scoring was difficult for most of the 60 women in the field. Players came from clubs in the South Gippsland Association and Metropolitan and Cerberus. Brian Twite (the event is named after Brian as he has a long association with coaching juniors and others in the area, particularly Leongatha) came along to present the trophy to the winning team. We also welcomed our Life Member Kit Boag who ran clinics for many years and has had a long association with Brian.
This year a team from Leongatha won the Bowl (after a drought of some years), the team comprised Marg Berry, Joc Howson and Glenyce McRobert (87 pts), 2 points ahead of another Leongatha team of Fay Quilford, Mellina Willder and Julie Howard.
Marg Berry won A Grade with 33 pts, B Grade Mellina Willder 33 pts, and Mary Whelan (Phillip Island) won C Grade with 32 pts. Well done and thank you to the many workers who contributed to the success of the day.
A large field of 44 women played in cold & sometimes wet conditions. This was a wonderful testament to our Board event sponsors Bruce & Anne Gibson, our grateful thanks for your generous sponsorship.
