A wide fairway greets players on this challenging opening hole. The uphill approach to this elevated green is protected by a bunker on the right and a swale to the left. Approaching from the left side of the fairway is preferable.
The best line off the tee is down the centre of the fairway. The ball will run down to the left side opening up the green for your approach. This takes the bunker on the front right out of the equation. Short is much better than long when approaching this green. Short will give you an easy chip straight up the green. Left of the green drops away and would leave a difficult chip that will run away from you once on the green.
