Wednesday 19th July 2017 – Rd 1 Mudrunners Plate Stableford

Today’s event was sponsored by Pat Pease.  The raffle was donated by Glenyce McRobert.  There were a total of 22 players.  A Grade winner – Nancy Sperling 33 points and B Grade winner – Nan Meagher 36 points.

There were 3 players in the 9 hole competition, with the winner being Kerry Hogan with 13 points.

Wormburner’s Medal -Round 1 -Tuesday 18th July 2017

The first round of the Wormburner’s Medal was well attended on a relatively fine day for golf albeit a very chilly Tuesday.  Ian Barlow was the king of the yellow tee’s with a great score of  43 points, which was Best Score of the Day. Jon Smith came in as runner up with 39 points to win A Grade on count back.  I look forward to the next week’s round to see who takes out the Medal.

Four teams have certainly settled them selves into the top four for the run home to the finals.

OOB’s, Bunkers, Pars & Fairways.

Birdies & Bogies after three rounds are winless, but with good wins, and with good percentages in the next two weeks, could find themselves in the finals.

Round Three Invy Espy Hotel Voucher B & F is Frank Gill with 36 points.

Thursday 13th July 2017 -Stableford

Thursday 13th was a chilly day for golf but a good field turned up the heat with some spectacular golf, none better than Mitchell Elliot who returned with a gigantic 48 points off a handicap of 28 to take Best Score of the Day, and C Grade.  Life member Col Sperling was quick to claim credit for the performance being all down to breeding, as Mitchell is his grandson.

A grade was won by Geoff McDonald (38 points) who continued his recent good run of form and B Grade won by Frank Gill with a steady 36 points.

DTLB’s were won by Kris Mueck (37), Michael Thomas (36), Stuart Harry (36), Joe Lowell (35), Mark Warby (35), Andrew Smith (35), Adan Hewood (34), Ron Findlay (34), Michael Street (33), Greg Ellt (33), Alan Kuhne (33), Alan Sperling (33), John Dumont (33), Rebecca Thomas (33), Paul Luck (33), Peter Brownlie (32),  Ray Burton (32), Peter Hart (32) and Bruce Cathie (31).

Nearest the Pin winners, were Kris Mueck  (0.63M) on the 14th hole and John Simon (3.1M) on the 16th hole.

A Grade winner Geoff McDonald included in his round of 38 points a very good eagle from out of the scrub at the top of the hill, to hole out on the 2nd.

Just to go one better, not only did Kristopher Mueck (-5) score 37 points and take out the NTP on the 14th with (63cm), he scored two eagles, the first on the par 4-3rd hole and the second on the par 5- 18th hole, overall a great day out by both players.

Wednesday 12th July 2017 Women’s Monthly Medal Stroke

Total of 28 Players.  Raffle was donated by Alison Strong.  Monthly Medal winner was Fay Quilford with 74 nett.  A Grade winner – Toni West 76 nett, B Grade winner- Fay Quilford 74 nett, C Grade winner Karen Orford 80 nett.  B Grade Scratch winner Fay Quilford 97 gross.

Winner of the 9 Hole Competition was Marie Sands.

Round / Week Two (2) 2017 Invy Espy Hotel Super League.

Individual Scores not as high as round one, but lots more this week in the 30’s.

OOB’s and Bunkers once again scrapped over the line with wins lead the way in the top four.

Best & Fairest for the Invy Espy Hotel Voucher for round two with 35 points was Dave Forbes on a count back from Neale Gillin.
