There were 35 players who enjoyed beautiful conditions in today’s Monthly Medal event.  The winner of the Monthly Medal and C Grade was Chris Lay 106/39/67, A Grade winner was Danita Hall 94/21/73, A Grade Scratch winner was Liz Hodge 73 c/b from Dot Stubbs and B Grade winner was Kerry Hogan 100/27/73.

There were 6 players who competed in the 9 hole comp and the winner was Jan Bissett (34) with 21 points and ball winner was Jill Steer (31) with 20 points

December Monthly Medal December 1st

Today we had 76 players in our December Monthly Medal and the scoring was as hot as the weather.

Overall Winner: Matthew Bowey with an amazing score of 62 Nett (70 off the Stick)

B-Grade Winner: Alan Khune with another great score of 65 Nett

C-Grade Winner: David Barrack with a great score of 66 Nett

14th NTP: Malcolm Legge with 4m

16th NTP: Bryan Roylance with 2.4m

We had 18 women playing in our ladies stroke day.

 

A-Grade winner was Liz Hodge with a score of 70 Nett

B-Grade Winner was Alison Strong with a score of 69 Nett

NTP winner was again Liz Hodge with a great shot on the 16th

TWO PERSON AMBROSE: Tuesday November 27th.

Beautiful weather was was the order of the day.

64 players fronted the starters gun, and even though the recently cored greens still were a little bumpy, some great scores we handed in.

At the end of the day, Grant Mc Ritchie & Bruce Hutton were leaders in the club house with a very fine 62.5

Second over the line saw Christopher Leaver & Allan Edney with a very respectable score of 64.5

Overall Winner: Gordon Morrison with a great score of 41 points

A-Grade Winner: Alan Kuhne with a score of 38 points

14th NTP: Ian Watson with 2.1m

16th NTP: Jon Smith with 2.8m

November 22 – Stableford

Just before tee off time the weather was bleak and rain was falling.  28 of the 52 players booked into to play took fright and left their clubs in their bag.

24 hearty men and women teed off and were rewarded with perfect golf conditions.  Not a drop of rain fell and the sun shone brightly for much of the morning.

Terry Grace mastered the course better than the rest, recording the day’s best score of 37 stableford points.

How good is golf!!!

Our annual tournament concluded today with the Kit Boag Memorial Mixed Canadian event.  President Peter Waters had the biggest win of all when he won the rug that Kit crocheted before she passed away in July.

On the golfing front the prize for the best scratch score was won by visitors from Mirboo North,  Lynette and Bevin Pinner, with 87 off the stick.  Returning after a long break, Leroy Sharrock teamed with Trish Owen to claim the runner-up prize on the same score.

A popular win for the best nett score with Lynda and Andy Bassett playing excellent team golf to record 70 5/8th.  Lianne Adamson and Rod Hopcraft put in a strong performance to claim the runner-up prize just half a shot behind.

Annual Tournament – Day 3 – November 17

Today’s team stableford event was played in perfect conditions with 80 players taking to the fairways.

The winning group of Bruce Cathie, Garry Friend, Alan Kuhne and Dave Vorwerg did a Bradman and scored 100 before lunch.  Their aggregate of 100 stableford points was a long way ahead of the rest of the field so the were deserving winners.  The happy crew are pictured below.

An individual event was run in conjunction with the team event with Deb Miller prevailing in the women’s event with 34 points and Frank Gill coming in with the day’s best score of 37 points.
