Mulligans Day Stableford
Thanks again to our sponsors for today’s event – Ross McRobert, Tony Gedye & Bill Howson.
This was a great fun day trialling a new format that incorporated 5 “second serves” for the golfers. Needless to say, scoring was hot!

The day started with a bang (of thunder and rain) but ended in bright sunshine and stiff breezes, but it didn’t deter a good field of 61 today . The Course is in prime condition despite the irrigation work which is continuing with little inconvenience to play. The best score today was 38 and the best round was decided on count back going to John Moor by a whisker over an unlucky Geoff McDonald.

12 Holes of Christmas
Today 47 women played an ambrose event, some were threes, some were fours.
After surviving four seasons in one day the scores were very good. The winning team was Coral Gray, Karen Orford, Marion Chalmers and Coralie Baker with a nett 36.5.
Nearest the pin on the 16th was a very new player Trish Miller who holed the birdie putt.
Following presentations the players, past players, friends and guests enjoyed a delicious Christmas lunch. Our thanks to Bec Thomas and her various teams of helpers who were responsible for the preparation and serving of the meal.
Two photographic quiz competitions kept us entertained during lunch.
A very generous raffle with the feature prize being a lovely christmas cake made and decorated by Colleen Touzel took place, followed by at least 20 further draws for prizes donated by our members.
It was a wonderful finish to our formal golfing year and a great start to our Christmas festivities but don’t forget Wednesday stableford competitions continue until the end of January.
59 players enjoyed the course in great condition.
Gary Sharrock and Dave Vorweg starred with 48 points.
