Thanks to the continuing generous sponsorship from BJS Insurance, the 2016 Leongatha Golf Club TOP GUN event will once again be held soon:
The 2016 Top Gun Shootout is an individual elimination handicap event. The schedule consists of qualifying period and a final where the top 19 qualifiers shoot it out for the main prizes.
Prize money is $250 for the winner, $100 for the runner-up and $50 for the third placed player.
All Leongatha Golf Club members who have playing rights at the club including male and female members are eligible to qualify for the event. Qualifying is based on your best score recorded during the qualifying period from any singles stroke, stableford or par event. This will be converted to stableford points for determining the top 19 stableford scores for the 19 qualifying positions. Normal count-back rules apply. The qualifying period runs from Tuesday August 2nd 2016 and finishes on Thursday November 3rd 2016.
On the day of the Final, 19 (Sunday 6th November) players tee off together. Players will play off their handicap of that day according to the tees in use on the day. One player with the lowest stableford score is eliminated on each hole. A chip off will determine a result per hole should several players have the same low stableford score. Eventually, you will have 2 players coming down the 18th to win the Shootout. Should both players post the same score occur on the 18th, a chip off will be used to determine the winner.

Yes. It is a once off cost of $10 and once paid, you can attempt to qualify as many times as you like after you have paid the entry fee.
Pay your $10 at the Proshop any time before you start to qualify. Please ensure you name is added to the registration sheet in the Proshop. Your name will be recorded as a competitor and your scores will be reviewed for qualifying purposes after each card is returned. A live leader board will also be available in the clubhouse. As mentioned, you can qualify as many times as you like during this period. Your best score will determine your place in the rankings. Remember, the top 19 only play off in the final.
The Final will be on Sunday 6th of November 2016. Tee off will be at 9 am sharp. Should a qualifier be unable to attend, reserves may be called up according to normal count-back rules.
The committee reserves the right to adjudicate on any issue that may arise during the running of the event.
An Entry Sheet has been placed in the foyer of the Clubhouse. Please pay your $10 entry fee at the counter and put your name and date paid on the entry sheet.
