On what turned out to be another windy and chilly day, Jeffrey Brewer came in with Best score of the Day with 35 points. Wendy-Anne Parker, who was still celebrating her 70’s birthday, won A grade with 34 points and Garry Friend took out C Grade with 33 points.

We had 20 hardy souls competing in wild, windy and wet conditions for the Grandmother’s Trophy. The winner of A Grade and the Grandmother’s Trophy was Fay Quilford (23) with 34 points. Congratulations Fay. B Grade winner was Karen Bear (29) with 28 points.
On a beautiful day for golf, the Course and greens had recovered well from a wet weekend to give a little run and good pace on the greens, which Max Hyde & Andy Bassett took advantage of to score a very respectable 43 points. Runners up were Frank Thomas & John Mc Lennan who came in with 41 points.

The course was bathed in sunshine when a good field hit off for today’s Par event. Kevin Scott brought home the round of the day with a +5 to win C Grade, Ken Smirk won B Grade with +1 and Anthony Sparkes won A grade with 2 down.

We had a hardy group of players showing up for the Doris Chambers Foursomes event today in windy conditions. The winners were Maxine Eabry & Trish Owen (20) with a score of 32 points. Runners-up were Chris Lay and Lynda Bassett (39) with 31 points. Maxine and Trish have now qualified to play in the final on a Melbourne course later in the year. Congratulations to them.
Today each hole of the Course was converted to a Par 3 hole which made for a real test of golf skills in the somewhat wet and windy conditions. Best nett score of the day was achieved by Hans Hoefler with a score of 48 points ahead of Greg Ellt, Colin Bear and Ken Smirk all on 49 points.

This was the first Thursday PM event taking place after the traditional 9am shotgun. It was warmly supported with 16 entrants on a fine Winter’s afternoon. Unfortunately the scoring was did not match the conditions with Trevor Rickard taking the chocolates in the first hitout with 32 points. Well done Trevor! Tee times are between 1pm and 2pm for the rest of August and September before reverting to 1pm – 3pm for the daylight savings months. We hope to see you at the Club in the afternoon if the morning doesn’t suit.
