Round Three Results 2019 Invy Espy Hotel Super League

Once again this week saw some very close results, especially with Team Kangaroos 141, one point win over Wombats 140.

Rosellas are certainly are on a hot streak with the highest score of the year to date, a fantastic score of 147 points. Also well and truly the ladder leaders.

Round three “ROD BROWN” Best & Fairest with 39 points was Tony Roberts on a count back from Liz Hodge.

Round 1 Division 1 Women’s Pennant

The first round of Division 1 Pennant was played on our course today 4th March, with a very pleasing result. Leongatha defeated Foster 4 1/2 games to 1/2.

Dot Stubbs started the day off with  3/2 victory over Rae Knee, then Trish Owen defeated Beth Curram 3/1.  Wendy Parker and Debbie Williams had an even struggle all day to finish all square on the 18th.  Toni West defeated Fiona Curram 6/5 and the day was rounded off with Ashleigh Hutton winning her match against Barb Warren 3/2.  Congratulations to all.  The next round is against Meeniyan on 18th March.

2019 PUTTING COMPETITION

2019 Putting Competition.

The Putting Competition is moving along nicely, in fact two players have already moved through their matches very quickly and are already in the finals on Friday 22nd March.

REMINDER:   All round two (20 matches must be completed by “Club House Closing Time” this coming Saturday 2nd March.

Two players Ken Smirk and Janet Kolotelo were seen battling it out early Monday morning before the heat arrived.

Ken ran out the winner and now moves to Round Three of the competition.

Invy Espy Hotel Super League

Eight teams made up of 64 players finally got away in the first round of the Invy Espy Hotel 2019 Super League.

With many scores in the mid to high thirties, the Super League team certainly had their hands full working out the winners.  Anne Gibson with a great score of 42 points took out the inaugural Rod Brown Best & fairest.

Team Possums will certainly be closely watched by the Super League management in round 2.

They came flying out of the starters blocks by a great win (141) and percentage builder over Team Echidnas (125)

Beautiful weather was was the order of the day.

64 players fronted the starters gun, and even though the recently cored greens still were a little bumpy, some great scores we handed in.

At the end of the day, Grant Mc Ritchie & Bruce Hutton were leaders in the club house with a very fine 62.5

Second over the line saw Christopher Leaver & Allan Edney with a very respectable score of 64.5

Stableford Thursday 1st November

70 players fronted up to vertical rain, but the clouds parted and up went the scores. Max Hyde C Grade handicap of 33  had a magnificent 45 points.

A Grade saw Kieth Finney get over the line with 36 points.

Cruising the Baltic’s for 6 weeks didn’t seem to affect Vice President  Garry Friends return to golf with a fine 38 points.

63 Players hit the course on Grand Final Day.

The weather turned out in favour of the players. And one player in particular “Scotty Blencowe”  took advantage of the reasonably conditions

A-Grade winner: Scotty Blencowe  44 Points

B-Grade winner: Barry Attwood   37 points

C-Grade winner: Glenn Marsham 36 Points

GORDON WEST 9 HOLE COMPETITION Sunday 7th October.

GORDON WEST NINE HOLE COMPETITION:

Sunday the 7th October sees the start of the Gordon West Nine Hole Competition.

It is a 9 hole stroke event, played on the back nine. Played off the Yellow markers, along with some red markers for the ladies.

Maximum of 10 shots per hole.  Tee off time is between 7-30 to 9-30 am.

Teams of Seven (7) Top four scores from each team are counted. Teams made up of Men, Ladies or Mixed.

If you want to put a team together, please enter the team name and members on the sheet on  the club house notice board. (by Friday 5th)

If you are not part of a team, and wish  play, just turn up on the day and Pat West will put you in oe of the team for that day.

LADIES STABLEFORD RESULTS

Eight ladies fronted the starter on what turned out to be (weather wise) a not a bad for chasing that little white ball around.

Winner with 28 points off a handicap of 29 was Coral Gray .

Balls down the Line went to    Maryanne Gartner 27 Points

Amy Blencowe  24 Points.
