Wednesday 15th March Women’s Irish 3 Ball

48 women played an Irish 3 Ball today on the green course (1 score par 5’s, 3 scores par 4’s and 2 scores par 3’s) in rather hot conditions, with the winning team coming with a hot score of 99. Glad to be in the clubhouse, all enjoyed a lovely green afternoon tea provided by the committee.  Thanks to all who contributed to the food and decorations, and those who dressed in keeping with the St. Patrick’s Day theme.

Gordon West 9 Hole Competition.

Sunday saw the final round of the Gordon West 9 Hole Competition for 2016-2017.  The day was taken out by the team of Rule 35 with the main contributors for the day being Allan and Louise Schache,Colin and Karen Bear, and Marryanne Gartner with the Bakers away.  However overall winners for the series was 7 Up with the team consisting on the day of  John Hassett, Bill Bittleman, Doug Clemman, Frank Smedley and Eddie Poole (all pictured ) with sponsor and 7 Up member Kevin Scott from South Gippsland Boarding Kennels holding the Shield, and organiser Ian Danks with matriach Pat West.  Many thanks go to all those teams that play and continue to support this event which is played in the memory of Gordon West.

Wednesday March 8th Women’s Stableford

Forty four women played  stableford event in beautiful autumn weather, surpassed only by the excellent condition of the course. Take a bow Dylan & team. The sponsor for today’s event was Noreen Williams and the raffle was provided by the Debenham family.The best scores of the day were 37 points by A grade winner Kerrie Hogan & Nan Meagher our C grade winner. Julie Howard won B grade with 34 points.

Nine women played in the 9 hole comp. There were some outstanding scores with Marea Bell pipping Gwen Chapman on a count back both with 20 points. New member Wendy Jepson was hot on their heels with 19 points. Chris Lay’s second shot on 14th won the prize.
