October is golf month with beautiful Spring weather putting a extra metre or two on the well hit shots.
Bert Borg had a top day out to win today’s event with 38 stableford points.
The other grades were won by Doug Clemann with 35 points (A grade) and Kevin Michael with 36 points (C grade).
Today’s event was kindly sponsored by Chris Lay. There were 38 players competing in todays event with the winners being A Grade Fay Quilford 34 points, B Grade Marea Maher 36 points, C Grade Lesley Renwick 25 points.
The nine hole competition winner was Marie Sands 15 points.
Congratulations to Brad O’Brien on scoring an excellent 40 points to win today’s competition. A few of his fellow C grade competitors scored well too, but couldn’t quite catch our winner.
A grade was won by Colin Martin with a handsome 37 points and Magpie supporter, Bert Borg, had his heartache slightly alleviated with a win in B grade with 36 points.

GORDON WEST NINE HOLE COMPETITION:
Sunday the 7th October sees the start of the Gordon West Nine Hole Competition.
It is a 9 hole stroke event, played on the back nine. Played off the Yellow markers, along with some red markers for the ladies.
Maximum of 10 shots per hole. Tee off time is between 7-30 to 9-30 am.
Teams of Seven (7) Top four scores from each team are counted. Teams made up of Men, Ladies or Mixed.
If you want to put a team together, please enter the team name and members on the sheet on the club house notice board. (by Friday 5th)
If you are not part of a team, and wish play, just turn up on the day and Pat West will put you in oe of the team for that day.

Eight ladies fronted the starter on what turned out to be (weather wise) a not a bad for chasing that little white ball around.
Winner with 28 points off a handicap of 29 was Coral Gray .
Balls down the Line went to Maryanne Gartner 27 Points
Amy Blencowe 24 Points.
Well done to Frank Gill with 36 points in tough conditions today to win on a countback from Michael McGrath. 29 players in today’s field.
It was Ted Bruinewoud’s day on the golf course. His outstanding 43 points was far and away the best score of the day. Hot golf Ted.
With 37 points each, Alam Kuhne and Keith Finney were the grade winners.

Todays event was sponsored by Dot Stubbs and Di Williams. There were 36 players in the 18 hole event today enjoying perfect golfing weather, with the winners being A Grade Maxine Eabry (21) 33 points, B Grade Julie Howard (29) 31 points, and C Grade Maryanne Gartner (34) 34 points.
There were 5 players in the 9 hole competition today with the winner being Karen Murchie (38) 15 points C/B.
John McLennan was the star performer today with a fine 37 points.
A grade winner was Mark Warby with 36 points, with Brian Fennessy topping the C grade field with 36 points.
