The leading six players were;

1 THOMAS SORRELL 77 79 78 234
2 CHRISTOPHER LEAVER 80 77 82 239
3 MARK LAFFERTY 84 91 78 253

6 BRUCE HUTTON 82 89 92 263

B grade was won by Bruce Hutton with a three round total of 263 to beat Brendan Simon on 264.  A clutch par on the last hole won the day for Bruce in an epic battle. Congratulations to Brendan Simon on a super effort to peg back four shots in the last round to almost get there.  Jon Smith on 269 ran third.

C grade saw Bert Borg become the champion with 3 round total of 288.  Bert came from outside of the seeded groups to win with a final round 89 and upstaged Patrick Bowd (290) and Geoff Maher(291).

Lachlan Thomas came from the clouds to win D grade shooting a final round 93 for a three round total of 306 to beat Peter Hobson by a shot.  Bruce Cathie on 312 rounded out the top 3.

Chris Leaver took out the Senior Championship again this year.  His three round total of 239 was too hot for the rest of the seniors but Rod Mackenzie (256) showed strong form to take second place.

Ryan Thomas on 269 cruised to victory in the Junior Championship with brother Lachlan finishing second.

Rounding out a successful three weeks, Lachlan Thomas also won the RE Cameron award for the best nett score over the 3 rounds of Club Championship.  Lachie’s 3 round nett score of 210 eclipsed the rest of the field with Ian Watson and Chris Leaver on 221 finishing equal second.

Working Bee Re-Turf’s the corner of the 18th fairway.

Well done to the dozen volunteers that turned out to lay the turf on the 18th fairway which had been prepared by Dylan & Dennis on Wednesday.  Timing is everything with these events as if we left the repair until after the coming major events, it would likely be too dry and hot for the turf to root in as easily.  The area is roped off to ensure carts use the left hand side of the fairway and green.  The newly turfed area’s are marked as GUR (compulsory) and relief will be taken at the nearest point, no closer to the green, as per Rule 25-1.

Cart users, when travelling from the 18th green to the 1st hole, please travel behind the 18th green as close to the tree line as possible and then approach the first tee along the bitumen path.
