Life Membership for Pat Pease

Congratulations to Pat Pease who was granted a Life Membership at the Annual Meeting of the Leongatha Golf Club last Friday night. Pat has been a member for over 55 years, and has been a great contributor to the club for many of those. She served on the Board for three years in 2001, 2002, 2003, has been Captain, Handicapper for a lengthy period, on Match Committees, pennant organiser and has volunteered many hours in helping with juniors, volunteered hours in the clubhouse and much, much more.  She shares her considerable experience and knowledge gained over these years, at club and association level, with incoming office bearers and is a great asset to the club.

Men’s Stableford Saturday August 26

54 players battled it out in tough scoring conditions today. Colin Bear took out A-Grade with a score of 34 points. Best score of the day and winner of B-Grade was Denis Manners with a fantastic score of 37 points.

Thursday Stableford August 24

A total of 54 players took to the course today where they were met with both sun and rain throughout the day. The rain didn’t deter our winners though. Wayne Keen taking out A-Grade with 35 points. B Grade was won by Nick Lafferty SNR with 35 points. Winner of C-Grade and by far the best score of the day was Kevin Scott with a spectacular score of 39 points.

Wednesday 23rd August 2017 – Grandmother’s Trophy Stableford

Today’s Stableford event was sponsored by Lynda Bassett.  The raffle was provided by Lianne Adamson.  The winners today were A Grade – Wendy Parker 31 points, B Grade – Lianne Adamson 37 points and C Grade – Barb Miller 31 points.  The winner of the Grandmother’s Trophy, sponsored by Ann Blundy, which is presented on Presentation Day, was won by Lianne Adamson with 37 points.  Total number of players was 30.

There were 3 who played in the 9 hole comp.  The winner was Jill Steer with 16 points.

Par Saturday August 19

A small but quality field of 30 players participated in our par competition today. We had three great scores of +2 come in, but the overall winner was Steve Fisher narrowly beating Chris Leaver and Terry Lund on a countback.

BJS Insurance Top Gun Update No.1

With a cold wet start to the BJS Insurance Top Gun Event this year, you may think that scores could be ordinary, but the opposite is the case for the leaders who have been handling the conditions well, and producing some amazing golf.

Still early days but I encourage you to jump on board now, register at the front desk and pay the $10.00 entrance fee and make sure that next extra ordinary round qualifies you for the final.
