Grandmother’s Trophy was cancelled and has been rescheduled for October 30th. Seventeen women competed in a Stableford event. A Grade winner:Wendy Parker 39 points and B Grade winner: Sue Woods 31 points on C/B.

A small field of fearless golfers didn’t let the cold and windy conditions deter them today.
In a rare event, Colin Bear took the honours with 34 points pipping Norm Hughes on a countback.
David Richards hit the flagstick on 14 and rolled to 3.38 metres from the hole to collect nearest the pin. NTP specialist Ian Barlow bobbed up again on 16 with a shot to 3.90m.
With the smell of spring in the air, a healthy field tested their skills in the toughest game of all, straight Foursomes. The well credentialed pairing of Dan Jolley and Stuart Harry won the day’s event with a nett score of 72.5, narrowly pipping Rod Mackenzie & Matt Bowey and Winton Knop & Malcolm Legge, both pairs with a nett 73. Norm Hughes & Craig Hutchinson rounded out the top 4. The top 4 pairs now move into the matchplay phase of the HS Roberts Foursomes board event.
Craig won 2 golf balls for both him and his partner with his nearest the pin shot to 4.30 metres on the 14th.
Peter Walsh did the business on 16 to earn 2 golf balls for himself and partner, Andrew Smith.

A separate stableford competition was run for those left without a partner and a group of visitors, largely from Wonthaggi GC. Scott Williams took to Leongatha’s fairways and greens like a seasoned local to shoot 38 points to annihilate the rest of the field.

A good field of 53 players contested today’s stableford competition in very blustery conditions. Fresh back from touring northern Australia for the past couple of months, John Mclennan was immediately into the groove; shooting an excellent 37 points to win the day on countback from Tony Roberts, who also scored 37 points to take out C-grade honours. Ken Smirk co0mpleted the winners’ list, winning A-grade with 36 points; also on countback.
Sixteen pairs played in very heavy conditions. Winners Pat Pease and Ashleigh Hutton with 29 points and Runners Up with 27 points were Coralie Baker and Alison Strong.
Managing a wet course well was Jon Smith was a clear winner today with a very fine score of 40 points. Allan Edney took out B Grade with 36 points.
Andrew Smith was today’s hero with a score of square in our Par Plus event. A good score to get Andy up near the top of the Top Gun ladder.

In tricky conditions, Gordon Morrison was a cut above the rest and a clear overall winner with 40 points. Geoffrey Maher won B Grade with 37 points and Hans Hoefler took out C Grade with 36 points.
