Men’s Club Championships – Round 1

Please check the following links to see who’s leading and who’s struggling after today’s first round of our Men’s Club Championships.

Club Championship by grade

RE Cameron Trophy (best nett score over 3 rounds of Championship)

Senior Club Championship for players over 60 years old

Junior Club Championship for players under 21 years old

 

Today was also the 8th and final round of the Owen McMicking Plate where players best five scores from the 8 medals held from March to October.  This event rewards the player who has consistently performed best when the course is at its toughest.

Congratulations to Chris Leaver on a very fine win with a string of excellent scores.

Stableford – Thursday, October 3

The greens were slick and the early heatwave took the filed by surprise today.

Brad Hines had a great day out though posting the day’s best score of 38 stableford points to easily win today’s event.  Brad added to his prize pool when he won nearest the pin on the 14th with a shot to 0.38m to win a sleeve of golf balls and a fabulous Nishent Driver.  Brad will be smacking ’em even longer and straighter from now on.

Ross McRobert won A grade with 35 points pipping Martin Edney on a countback.

Bruce Christison won B grade with an impressive 36 points and

The elder Nick Lafferty bobbed up in C grade with 32 points to head off Ian Blencowe on a countback.

Wendy Parker hit a beauty to 1.45m on 16 to claim nearest the pin there.

Tuesday Stableford 24 September

A field of 24 golfers braved a wintry start to today’s stableford competition. Craig Hutchinson continued his very good recent form to take out overall honours with 37 points. Trevor Steer  also enjoyed the challenging conditions to take out B-grade with 34 points and Stephen Lacy rounded out the winners, with 35 points to win C-grade.

Thursday Championship

The final round of the Thursday championship was completed today.  Rob Martin came home strong to win the event with a two-round total of 71 stableford points.

Peter Hartigan (68), and Bruce Cathie (67) rounded out the top three

 

Thursday Stableford 12th September

A field of 65 golfers battled strong winds in the second round of the Thursday Championships. However, the tough conditions didn’t bother Bruce Cathie who shot a great 38 points to take overall honours. Andrew Smith won A-grade with 33 points on countback; whilst Peter Hartigan took out B-grade with 35 points, also on countback.

Stroke Tuesday 3rd September

A glorious Spring morning greeted the 51 competitors for today’s stroke round; also the third of the 4 Seasons rounds to be played over the year.

David Forbes handled the conditions best to run out overall winner on countback, with a nett 72. Ron Findlay also shot 72 nett to take out B-grade and Peter Hobson finished with a nett 76 to win C-grade; also on countback.

#DoItForJarrod Challenge Day

62 players participated in today’s events with proceeds going to Challenge supporting kids with cancer.

The winners of the Gentsomes event were Chris Leaver, John McInnes, Peter Hartigan and Trevor Moss with 114 points.

Ian Barlow, Ian Murchie, Dean Kellett and Kevin Michael took the runner-up prize with 112 points
